More information has been released about Monday's mid-morning attempted robbery at P.F. Chang’s Bistro at the Summit.
Birmingham Police said that just after 9 a.m., a kitchen worker stepped out to the back of the building when two men walked up to him.
One man had a rifle and the other a handgun, police said, and they forced the worker back into the restaurant.
One of the robbers pushed him to the floor, put a foot on his neck, fired the rifle, and yelled for everyone to get down.
Police said that's when a kitchen manager came out of a cooler and one of the suspects fired at her, but missed. She ran back in the cooler.
No one was hurt, and the two suspects took off without getting anything.
Police said they're driving a two-door silver Grand Prix with tinted windows.
