GULF SHORES, Ala. (AP) -- A California man leaped to his death from the ninth floor of the Boardwalk condominium complex in Gulf Shores.
Police said the man, identified as 60-year-old Earl Cole, landed in the building's parking lot along Alabama 182 about 7 a.m. Thursday. His hometown was not immediately available.
He suffered from depression and his death has been ruled an apparent suicide, police officials said in a statement.
Police officers were the only witnesses when the man jumped.
