MONTGOMERY, Ala. (AP) -- Former HealthSouth CEO Richard Scrushy has agreed to travel to Birmingham from a federal prison in Texas to be interviewed by attorneys in a civil trial concerning accounting fraud at HealthSouth.

Scrushy attorney Martin Adams filed a motion in federal court in Birmingham Tuesday saying his client no longer objects to an earlier order that he be brought to Alabama by federal marshals.

Scrushy has served nearly one year of an almost seven-year sentence in the Texas federal prison. He and former Alabama Gov. Don Siegelman were convicted of bribery and other charges in a federal government corruption case.

He was ordered to be at the federal courthouse in Birmingham at 9 a.m. Monday.
