More Birmingham area drivers are running out of gas as fuel prices exceed their budgets.
The Alabama Service and Assistance Patrol said it responded to 645 stranded motorists that had run out of gas in April and May.
That was an increase of more than 130 over the same period last year.
AAA Alabama said it delivered gas to more of its stranded members from March to with a 10 percent increase of such cases.
