Two people are recovering today after a plane crashed shortly after takeoff at the Bessemer Airport.
The Federal Aviation Administration said a Cessna 177 was on departure Sunday at 2:15p.m. when the plane lost power and slammed into nearby trees.
Two people were on board, and both suffered minor injuries.
The wreckage is being recovered today.
