PHENIX CITY, Ala. (AP) -- An east Alabama man faces 10 years in prison for a string of church arsons and vandalism in Lee and Russell counties.

Russell County Chief Deputy District Attorney Buster Landreau says Geoffrey Tyler Parquette has pleaded guilty to arson, burglary and criminal mischief and will be sentenced July 29.

A co-defendant, James Scott Clark, awaits trial for arson. Both men from Smiths Station were 21 at the time of their arrests in January.

The charges stem from January fires at the Greater Peace and Goodwill Church in Crawford, Greater Bethelpore Baptist Church in Salem and Woodland Baptist Church in Phenix City.
