OPELIKA, Ala. (AP) - Police in Opelika say two men were gunned down on a city street and one died while undergoing surgery.
Officers investigating a report of a shooting early Sunday found 25-year-old Demecio Griffin of Opelika critically wounded. Police said Griffin died at East Alabama Medical Center.
Authorities said 44-year-old Reginald Moffett also was shot, but survived.
The two men were discovered on South Long Street around 1:30 a.m.
No motive was given and police said no arrests were made.
