MONTGOMERY, Ala. (AP) - Embezzlement charges were announced Friday against a former manager for the Federal Emergency Management Agency in Selma.

U.S Attorney Leura Canary in Montgomery said a three-count indictment charged 58-year-old Randy Broomme of Valparaiso, Florida. He is accused of embezzling both a travel trailer and a government vehicle. Canary said a grand jury also charged Broomme with obstruction of justice.

The indictment stated that Broomme was in charge of the agency's Housing Unit in Selma and was responsible for the storage, transportation and delivery of travel trailers in the aftermath of Hurricanes Katrina and Rita.

Broome was the 57th individual in Alabama's Middle District to be charged in a Hurricane Katrina-Rita fraud-related case. No trial date was announced.
