BIRMINGHAM, Ala. (AP) -- AAA Alabama reports gas prices dropped just under a penny overnight.
The Birmingham-based auto club's daily survey showed the average price for regular fell three-tenths of a cent - to $3.85 a gallon. The national average was $3.98.
Diesel prices also dropped a half-cent to $4.67 a gallon, but are 9 cents higher than the national average. Midgrade was $4.12 while premium averaged $4.24 a gallon.
Montgomery's average price for regular - $3.83 a gallon – was the state's lowest. Mobile had the highest average price at almost $3.89 a gallon.
