Commission Finds Ethics Violation Against Pell City Mayor

»  Comments | Post a Comment

PELL CITY, Ala. (AP) -- The Alabama Ethics Commission has ruled that Pell City Mayor Adam Stocks used his office for personal gain.

Commission director Jim Sumner Jr. said a member was absent when the panel voted 4-0 for an administrative resolution to the ethics violation.

Sumner said the violation was a "minor violation of the law" because the amount of personal gain was deemed less than $250. Stocks could be fined up to $1,000.

The violation involved an advertising deal between the city and WFHK, which is a radio station Stocks owns.

Stocks admitted he was wrong in the way he handled the matter and regrets the mistake.
