»  Comments | Post a Comment

ST. PAUL, Minn. (AP) -- Democrat Barack Obama is being gracious in victory to his in-party rival, Hillary Rodham Clinton.

Obama claimed victory in the race for Democratic delegates in the same St. Paul, Minnesota, hall where the Republican convention will take place in September.

He declared that "America, this is our moment."

The Illinois senator drew sustained cheers when he told his listeners that because of them, he will be the Democratic nominee for president

Obama offered lavish praise of Clinton, saying she's made history in this campaign, and calling her "a leader who inspires millions of Americans with her strength, her courage and her commitment."

He says the party and the country are better off because of Clinton.
