The economy was certainly on the minds of many who voted in Tuesday's Alabama Primary election. America's current financial crunch squeezed some people into voting booths today. Calvin Haynes says he's got a list of money worries:
"There are quite a few different things," says Haynes.
From national and international issues like the price of oil -- to problems on the home front - like Jefferson County's sewer fiasco.
"High gas prices, mortgages, utilities. The water bill is sickening it's so high. It's ridiculous," says Charles Foster, Sr.
For some voters like Helen Lyles, it's more than the economy. Lyles came to vote because she says a few of the candidates convinced her - even inspired her - they can and will do something about her top issue: crime in birmingham.
"I know we're not going to eradicate all of the drama associated with crime, but we can do something," explains Lyles.
And all three of these voters agree no matter what's on the ballot or what crisis is unfolding, everyone should vote, because there are no insignificant elections.
