John Katopodis has ended his involvement with the Birmingham Laptop Foundation.
The decision comes after city council members asked for more information about legal allegations against Katopodis.
The Healthsouth Corporation filed a suit claiming Katopodis mismanaged money in a similar laptop computer program for the city of Fairfield.
Birmingham Mayor Larry Langford said last night that Katopodis had volunteered his time to help set up the program.
