WASHINGTON, D.C.- Santa, Rudolph and his eight other reindeer will log millions of miles today, as they race across the world delivering toys and goodies to good little boys and girls.

According to military specialist at the North American Aerospace Defense Command or NORAD, St. Nick left the north pole in his record fast sleigh at 5 am central time. His departure time was actually two hours later this year than in previous years. The north pole staff gave no reason for the delayed departure.

It will no doubt be a long night for the man in red with deliveries in more than 100 countries, including of course the United States.

NORAD will provide up to the minute reports and pictures from key stops on santa's trip. Children can track santa's journey and see live feeds by accessing NORAD's website by clicking here. Children can call and personally speak to a santa tracker at 1-877-hi-norad 1-877-446-6723.
