Tuscaloosa Red Cross Opens Shelter

The West Alabama Chapter of the American Red Cross will open a shelter today at the Belk Activity Center.

The West Alabama Red Cross shelter will open today at the Belk Activity Center at 12:00 p.m. The shelter will accommodate 400. The shelter will have a nurse’s station and will provide both cots and blankets. The shelter will also provide feeding. Persons seeking shelter should have a photo identification with address for adults.
This shelter is not equipped for pets. Persons in need of shelter with pets should proceed to Birmingham and Montgomery.

At this time the chapter is making a plea for those interested in volunteering to contact the chapter. Persons wishing to make financial contributions should contact the chapter at (205) 758-3608. Donations of goods cannot accepted or processed at this time.
