Gadsden State Community College will provide temporary shelter to evacuees from Louisiana beginning at NOON – Sunday, August 31, 2008.

Directions to GSCC:
I-59 from Birmingham: Take the I-759 exit and follow it until it ends. (You must either turn right or left.) Turn right and you will see the campus on the right as you come up the hill. East Broad Campus will be on the left.
Hwy. 431 from Anniston: Turn left onto Hood Avenue at the red light just prior to crossing over the Coosa River Bridge. Follow Hood Avenue and it will turn into George Wallace Drive. As you come up the hill, you will see the Wallace Drive campus on the right. East Broad will be on the left.

• Gadsden State Community College is a secure site that offers cots, blankets, pillows and hygiene products. Showers will be available for use.
• Meals will be served by GSCC food service, various disaster relief & volunteer organizations.
• Pets are NOT ALLOWED in temporary shelters, with the exception of SERVICE PETS.
• Shelters will have available emergency medical personnel ready to care for individuals with minor illnesses and injuries.
• A special needs shelter is available in Birmingham, AL, for individuals who require long-term medical care.
