NEWSMAKER
Mark R. Warner, 53, a candidate for U.S. Senate, is speaking in the same keynote slot Barack Obama held in 2004. Warner grew up in Illinois and graduated from Harvard Law School in 1980.
He was governor of Virginia from 2002 to 2006 and was named one of the five best governors in 2005 by Time magazine. Warner, who co-founded a mobile phone company that became Nextel, is said to have a net worth of nearly $200 million.

NOTABLE
House Speaker Nancy Pelosi was loudly interrupted by protesters who snuck into a women's forum Monday. Code Pink demonstrators yelled, "You voted for spying, Nancy," and waived anti-war signs before security removed them.
