Expect heavy rain and tornadoes Monday as remnants of Tropical Depression Fay moves up through Alabama.

Already Monday morning, NWS issued several tornado warnings in Alabama, including sections of Hale, Perry, Dallas, Monroe, Covington and Washington counties after radar indicated the possibility of funnel clouds.

Meteorologist Richard Jacks says Alabama will likely get up to four inches of rain, which will continue through the night. Stay close to a source of weather information to stay safe.

Fay is blamed for at least 11 deaths in Florida and one in Georgia.

In Alabama, damage was evident across the state. In Maplesville, members of New Covenant Baptist Chruch say the storm destroyed the back of their chuch. Trees and power lines covered the church. No injuries were reporter, and the sanctuary was spared.

President Bush declared parts of Florida major disaster areas, which means federal funds will help pay for emergency work and repairs in the hardest hit areas of Brevard, Monroe, Okeechobee and St. Lucie counties.
