ARAB, Ala. (AP) - A 17-year-old boy has been accused of driving
his car through a crowd of young people in Arab twice, injuring one
person.
Witnesses told police the Union Grove teen had been arguing with
his on-again, off-again girlfriend. They said he was gunning for
another boy in the Town Plaza parking lot around 10:30 p.m.
Saturday, but hit 21-year-old Matthew Blake Walker of Arab, who
suffered minor head injuries.
An officer arrested the young driver, who was charged with
assault, reckless driving and driving under the influence of
alcohol.
His name was withheld because of his age. But on Sept. 11 he is
to appear before a judge who will determine if he should be tried
as an adult.
