Four agencies are combining resources
in an effort to determine what caused a weekend house fire that
killed a 6-year-old boy in Russellville.
Authorities said Mason Scott died in Saturday's fire. The blaze
was reported at about 2:30 a.m.
Mason's mother and four-year-old brother escaped through a back
window and were not injured.
Russellville Fire Chief Joe Mansell said the fire erupted in the
victim's bedroom, but he said investigators have been unable to
figure how it started.
Russellville is in Franklin County, approximately 47 miles east of Decatur.
