NEW HOPE, Ala. (AP) - Two elderly sisters died this morning when

their car was hit by a dump truck in New Hope as they drove to the

post office to mail Christmas packages.

Coroner Bob Berryhill identified the victims as 68-year-old

Billie C. Lemley and 76-year-old Robbie J. Beavis, both of Champ

Drive in New Hope.

The Huntsville Times reported on its Web site today that the two

were killed instantly when their car was hit by a dump truck.

The accident happened around 8:30 a.m. at the intersection of

U.S. 431 where Race Track Drive crosses and becomes Maple Road.

A spokesman at the New Hope Funeral Home said the accident

happened just about a quarter mile from the sisters' home. They

were on their way to the post office to mail Christmas packages and
