TUSCALOOSA, Ala. (AP) - The University of Alabama is buying land
from Bryce Hospital to add a parking lot.
Trustees have approved purchasing 21 acres from the state-run
mental health hospital, which borders the campus in Tuscaloosa. The
sale price: $1.6 million.
The land is being enough for 1,000 cars. The lot will hold 250
recreational vehicles on football game days, and the school plans
to add electrical hookups.
Trustee Joe Espy says the RV spots will fill a need for football
fans who've felt like they're getting squeezed by new construction
around campus.
