ALABASTER, Ala. (AP) - A suspect sought in an early morning shooting in Bessemer is in custody. An intense manhunt involving dozens of officers and a helicopter ended in the arrest of a man near a Walgreen store in Alabaster this morning.
Alabaster police said the man is suspected in a 2 a.m. shooting that led to a police chase, crash and the capture of a second male suspect.
Police said the shooting happened in the 800 block of 4th Avenue in Bessemer. Authorities said the victim was shot twice in the head, but his injuries were not serious. He was treated at a hospital and released.
Police withheld the names of the suspects and the victim.
