BIRMINGHAM, Ala. (AP) - Birmingham police are investigating a weekend shooting that left a 31-year-old woman seriously injured.
Officers were summoned around 9 a.m. Sunday to a residence on 30th Way North in Collegeville and found a female had been shot twice in the back.
The victim, whose name was withheld, told police her husband shot her around 1 a.m. and held her captive after the shooting for around eight hours.
The woman was taken to UAB Hospital and police said she had no feeling from the waist down. Authorities have identified a suspect, but no arrests were made.
