Birmingham, AL -- Mayor Larry Langford has set plans into effect to expand Birmingham's downtown convention center and add a multi-purpose domed stadium.
Langford said he plans to fund the project with a proposed increase to Birmingham’s sales tax and business license fees. Langford and domed stadium supporters said sports fans might get their wish, if plans are finalized for a 57,000 seat multi-purpose stadium.
