MONTGOMERY, Ala. (AP) - Alabama Gas Corporation rates are expected to be less this winter than last and a preliminary agreement has been reached on the utility's main rate-setting plan.
Officials say the plan is good for the next seven years and has features designed to keep rates stable.
Public Service Commission spokesman David Rountree said there had been growing concern at the P-S-C about rate hikes after winter heating bills jumped in late 2005 before pulling back.
He said today that everyone there is delighted and it's extremely positive that further increases aren't necessary this
winter.
