It is a soup and bread lunch to help raise awareness about local hunger.
Magic City Harvest introduced the Empty Bowls concept to
Birmingham in 2004 – we have come a long way from the first event– THANK YOU!
We also have a “To-Go” lunch line for people who want to participate but cannot stay and eat with us.
Each guest receives a hand-painted or hand-crafted bowl to take home. These bowls are created or painted by schools or organizations. This year the following are donating the crafted bowls, Indian Springs School, Hoover High School, Mountain Brook Junior High School, St. Vincent’s employees, Shades Cahaba Elementary, Crestline Elementary, Pizitz Middle School, and Mt. Brook Presbyterian Church.
We will also have a table of artist bowls that will be available for sale at the event
Help us alleviate hunger in our community by supporting this lunch. All funds raised goes to support MCH, in our mission to help redistribute excess food throughout Jefferson, Shelby, and Talladega counties.
