United Way Financial Fitness Fair
Project Overview
United Way Financial Fitness Fair is a free community event for families and individuals to access services and develop financial skills to move toward a brighter financial future. Event attendees will have access to numerous local resources with information and opportunities including:
Open bank accounts ON THE SPOT from banks and credit unions
Schedule a free tax preparation appointment
Take a financial fitness test to obtain assistance for areas that need to be addressed
Find out your credit score and what you can do to improve it
Meet one on one with a credit counselor
Learn how to avoid the use of predatory tax refund and lending services
Get assistance with foreclosure, bankruptcy and credit issues
Obtain information about career and education programs

Learn about utility assistance, money saving tips and many more asset development tools
Event Exhibitors: Central Alabama Financial Literacy Coalition member organizations, financial educators, United Way agencies and financial services providers will be on hand to provide free on-site services and/or provide post-event appointments and classes for attendees.
