Meow at the Mall: Adopt a Study Buddy During Tax Free Weekend

COLUMBIANA, Ala – Shelby Humane Society(SHS) will host “Meow at the Mall”, August 7th-9th at Riverchase Galleria during Tax Free Weekend.

Shoppers thinking of adding a study buddy to their back-to-school shopping list are encouraged to stop by and visit the adoptable pets waiting to find forever homes. While there, visitors can take advantage of several adoption pricing promotions and shop a selection of gift and pet related items including collars, leashes, t-shirts and more!

For some Shelby County residents, the Riverchase Galleria location provides an easier more convenient location than Shelby Humane Society’s main shelter in Columbiana.

“We hope by having this great opportunity at the Galleria, we can adopt more animals to residents who otherwise wouldn’t be able to visit the shelter” says Jennifer Russo, Director of Development at SHS.

“Meow at the Mall” will take place Friday and Saturday, August 7th and 8th from 10am-5pm and Sunday, August 9th from 12-5pm. The event will be located on the 2nd floor next to Sears in the previous Time Out location.

Shelby Humane Society cares for homeless, abused, neglected and abandoned animals and educates the community to instill an increased awareness and commitment to the responsibility of animal ownership and protection.
