BAKED BRIE
Serves 2-3
INGREDIENTS
½ Loaf French Bread
1 Each Wheel of Brie (4.5 oz)
1 Tbsp. Slivered Almonds, toasted
2 Tbsp. Butter, unsalted, soft
1 Each Green Leaf Lettuce
½ Each Green Apple, sliced 1/8’
6 Each Dried Apricots
½ Cup Dried Cranberries
1 Each Steak Knife
PROCEDURE
Cut loaf of French bread in half diagonally (45 degree angle). Cut ½” slices, not fully cutting through the bread, around 7-8 bread slices
Place on bottom shelf of cheese melter for 45 seconds. Turn on heat for an additional 45 seconds or until bread is crusty.
Remove brie from can, unwrap and place in a small dish.
Add the toasted almonds to the top of the brie.
Place 2 Tbsp. butter on top of the almonds.
Place in the microwave for 40 seconds at 10-second intervals to prevent cheese from bursting.
Remove from the microwave and place in cheese melter or broiler until butter is melted and almonds are toasted golden.
While melting, place leaf lettuce at 8:00 of the large white plate. Fan out the apples starting from the center of the plate at 7:00.
Place the dried apricots at 6:00, starting from the center and dried cranberries at 9:00, starting from the center.
Place hot brie cheese at 4:00.
Place hot French loaf at the left side of the hot brie cheese.
Serve with a steak knife of bread knife.
