For young girls, the transition from elementary to middle school can be pretty tough.
But, two area teachers have found a creative way to help girls make that change.
It's a great day at Shades Cahaba Elementary in Homewood. The students sing about making the right choices and how to respect each other.
What better way to learn than through role models like their teachers? Rod Carter and I were there to call two of those teachers to the head of the class.
Miss Rebecca Smith and Mrs. Lisa Mooresmith were nominated by a fellow teacher for a group they formed called ‘Lots of Love.‘
The Lots of Love group meets after school. The girls have formed a sisterhood of trust.
Every month we recognize someone in the community going above and beyond, with our NBC 13 HD “Making a Difference” award.
