While getting physical is important, you shouldn't neglect the intangables: your mind, your heart, your soul.
2009 is the perfect time for a tune-up! There's nothing worse than an idle, stagnant mind, and there's nothing that's easier to fix. Why not revive your creativity with an exciting new class? Go for something you've always had an interest in, but never been bold enough to try. Who knows what inspiration may be waiting for you in the study of cooking, painting or yoga? Learning, exploring, experiencing beauty... these are great ways to improve yourself in 2009, and the results will stay with you much longer than any time on a treadmill.
