Well, I now know how Barack Obama or John McCain will be feeling in about a month.
My little attempt to become the Alabama Governor of the Red Sox Nation Fan Club has fallen short.
I'm extremely appreciative to all my viewers who helped in this effort.
This is the letter I sent out to the members of our Facebook group Friday night:
Friends:
Within the past hour, the Red Sox have announced the Governors for Red Sox Nation.
We did not win.
While I'm very disappointed, I congratulate our new Governor, Dr. Judson Barber, who apparently works at Children's Hospital here in Birmingham.
I'm sure Dr. Barber shares my devotion, passion and enthusiasm for the Olde Towne Team, and will be a strong advocate for Red Sox fan issues here in the great state of Alabama.
Through all of this, I have been extremely humbled by your support of this silly endeavor of mine. I never thought I would attract more than 100 friends to our Facebook group and garner what had to be several thousand votes in support of my candidacy. Thank you to everyone who helped. I'm eternally grateful to you all, and I appreciate your friendship.
God bless you, and God bless the Boston Red Sox!
Sincerely,
Chris
Former Candidate for Governor of Red Sox Nation
